Resolutions For Kitten

January 1, 2023

Happy New Year! Are you starting out 2023 with a kitten at your feet … or on your lap? That first year is absolutely crucial to your feline pal’s growth and development. In fact, while little Fluffy is a baby now, by next New Year’s, she’ll be the equivalent age of a 15 year old human. Understandably, your tiny pal may have quite a lot on her to-do list for the coming year. A local Apple Valley, MN vet lists some of your pet’s cutest resolutions below.

Grow

Make sure that your adorable pet is eating good, nutritious food. Kittens have different needs than adult cats, so pick something made just for little Fluffy. Ask your vet for recommendations.

Gain Control Of The Humans

It actually is quite impressive the way these tiny balls of fur manage to wrap their humans around their tiny paws. That training starts early! Little Fluffy may work on teaching you to pet, hold, feed, and play with her on demand this year.

Purrfect The Pounce

Kittens may be tiny, but they have the instincts of a lion. Your ferocious little pet will instinctively want to play with, well, pretty much everything. Make sure your feline buddy has lots of fun toys, and take time to play with her regularly.

Charm My Vet

You may think that people working in the veterinary industry would get so used to kittens that we become immune to their charms. Wrong! Baby cats never stop being adorable. And we love meeting new patients. Get those initial appointments on the calendar!

Modeling Career

Don’t forget to take pictures of your feline friend! This super cute toddler stage will be over fast. Little Fluffy will be all grown up before you know it.

Work On Flexibility

Kitties are very lithe and flexible, which is why they can be perfectly comfortable in all sorts of odd, twisted positions. Little Fluffy may work on her stretches this year.

Explore New Places

Little Fluffy’s sense of adventure is adorable but it can get her into trouble. Keep major appliances, like dryers and toilets, closed when they aren’t in use. Petproofing is also a must. Ask your vet for advice.

Happy New Year from everyone here at River Ridge, your Apple Valley, MN animal clinic. We look forward to providing your pet with great care in 2023 and for years to come!
