Camping Safety For Dogs

Camping is one of America’s favorite summertime activities. It’s not only popular with people: it’s also a pretty big hit with our canine friends! Fido loves to explore new places with his humans. Supplies

Fido will need food, water, snacks, blankets or bedding, water, a spare leash, paw balm, grooming supplies, a tie-out line, and, if you’re going swimming, a doggy lifejacket. As for dishes, you may want to look at collapsible ones. These are great for camping! If Fido is sturdy enough, he may be able to carry some of his own gear in a cute doggy backpack.

Waste

Don’t forget to pick up after your canine companion! In some areas, you may be able to bury Fido’s waste. Otherwise, you’ll need plastic bags as well. 

Training

ID

We’d recommend keeping Fido on leashes or tie-lines. However, he should be microchipped and wearing ID tags, just in case. GPS tags and collars can also be a great safety net.

First Aid

Don’t forget to bring a first-aid kit along for Fido! Include items like gauze, antiseptic, tweezers, and non-stick bandages. Hopefully, you won’t need it, but it’s best to be prepared, just in case.
